Workforce and Technology Training is in search of a great match for the pivotal role of Career Services Coordinator. The Career Services Coordinator is an imperative position responsible for providing placement assistance, encouragement, guidance and direction to students from enrollment to graduation. This role is split between Career Counseling and Outreach. The ideal candidate will possess time management skills, a passion for education and a proven track record of working successfully in both collaborative and autonomous work environments.

Main Responsibilities include not limited to:

Outreach

  • Documents placement statistical data in accordance with state, federal and accreditation standards.
  • Manages and coordinates career events, workshops, career nights and seminars.
  • Builds and maintains a database of appropriate job opportunities and career pursuit activities for graduates by engaging in activities such as the following.
  • Conducts cold calls for job leads and networks with employers to obtain placement opportunites.
  • Develops and maintains a list of companies with potential job opportunities through professional associations, phone books, or websites.
  • Attends meetings, such as Chamber of Commerce, to market graduates and establish relations ships within ghte corporate community.
  • Encourages representatives from companies with high profiles to visit the school to interview students on-site.
  • Engcourages corporations to post job openings with the school.
  • Scans local newspapers on a regular basis to identify companies that are currently hiring.
  • Scans internet job boards such as NACElink Network, Career Builder, Go Jobbing, USA Jobs.net, linked In, Ladder, Monster.com, Dice.com, HotJobs, and FlipDog.
  • Sends e-mails to corporate clients to promote graduates and to obtain job listings.
  • Collaborates wtih Admissions Representatives and Account Executives to development employment opportunities within their customer contacts.

Career Counseling

  • Interacts with vocational students from initial student contact through the enrolllment process and throughout the student's tenure with the school.
  • Conducts initial placement interview.s
  • Coaches students on interview techniques.
  • Schedules graduate interviews with employers and follows up with employers.
  • Monitors employer and student satisfaction.

Qualifications

  • Experience with academic requirements, accrediation standards, and placement services responsibilities highly preferred.
  • Highly proficient computer skills
  • Excellent leadership abilities; ability to consistently make intelligent decisions under pressure and deadlines.
  • Strong initiative and positive attitude
  • Great analytical skills.
  • Excellent organizational abilities and ability to deal effectively with people
  • Effective oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills are imperative.

Role reports to School Director

This is a hybrid role with flexibility to work from home on an agreed upon schedule. All interested candidates must reside in the greater St. Louis area and be able to reliably commute throughout the city and S. Illinois.

Schedule: Monday-Friday, Saturday as needed for job fairs, events, etc.

The Education/Admissions Counselor role will be responsible for recruiting new students for the career education programs, developing and maintaining relationships with students and workforce development professionals, maintaining a superior level of customer service; while contributing to the goals of the career education team.

Specific responsibilities include:

Enrollment Activities

  • Responsible for making outbound contacts to prospective students.
  • Responsible for scheduling meetings with potential career education students.
  • Develop and deliver career education presentations and proposals to potential career education students.
  • Responsible for scheduling meetings with local workforce agencies within assigned territory.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with local workforce agencies and Veteran Affairs.
  • Attend and/or deliver presentations at career-focused events and seminars.
  • Responsible for updating and maintaining all opportunities in CRM.

Student Support Activities

  • Obtain expert knowledge in all NH educational programs, courses, and learning modalities
  • Ensure accurate information is obtained from prospective students via Student Admissions Form and initial student interviews.
  • Ensure initial Enrollment Agreements are completed with students and all associated required paperwork is obtained and attached to the student enrollment file.
  • Responsible for understanding different funding options that are available for potential career training students.
  • Serve as secondary level support for student concerns or questions.

Required Experience

At least two years of successful business development, relationship-building experience, recruiting, sales or simliar experience.

Job Description

Workforce and Technology Training (WTT) is a premium technology & career school that offers training in all aspects of Information Technology, Leadership and Business Development. We are looking for an IT trainer (FT/PT) to teach content with official content from Microsoft, Cisco, CompTIA and other IT product vendors. Our mission is to change lives and prepare students to start a career in IT with training to transform novices into industry ready, IT workers through rigorous coursework of formal training, mentor sessions, and Information Technology topics taught live by expert instructors. Participants complete their learning with multiple career coaching, networking events, soft skill training by producing a final capstone project or prepare to achieve vendor certifications, which they present to potential employers upon successful completion of their program. Extensive career training and placement assistance are provided, leading to many of our students receiving offers while they are still in the program while finalizing their capstone projects

About the Role:

WTT is hiring trainers to teach upcoming cohorts in St. Louis, MO and O’Fallon, IL. The trainer will deliver approved curriculum through lecture and lab instruction to students. As a WTT you will guide students through assigned course work and developing their projects. You’ll collaborate with the team to meet our mission of changing lives, and provide a friendly classroom environment. This will be a full time role based in St. Louis, MO with some remote delivery options. This position reports to the School Director.

Minimum Requirements:

  • The candidate must have at least 6 months to 3 years' experience in Computer Science/IT.
  • Industry-recognized professional certifications are required. (we will assist/guide candidates in achieving certifications as required)
  • Trainer certifications a plus (eg. MCT, CCSI, RHCI)
  • Candidates must submit to an interview process, including a 60-minute demonstration lesson.
  • Have the ability to deliver the curriculum in a fun and engaging way.
  • Provide feedback fro curriculum impromement.
  • Experience teaching adults
  • Ability to utilize a variety of methods and mediums in delivering course material.
  • Excellent written, verbal communication and reporting skills.
  • A desire to work in a fast-moving environment with a high degree of ownership and independence.
  • Proven educational or administrative experience in critical thinking and problem solving.
  • Engage with students, WTT sales staff and student placement advisors as needed.
  • Positively advocate for the school and the program.

Responsibilities

  • Prepares materials for the approved curriculum
  • Work with students 1-on-1, in pairs and in groups to support their learning and growth in the program
  • Prepares weekly assignments
  • Participates in training initiatives by providing regular, accurate, and timely feedback to students and the requirements concerning academics, behavior, attendance, etc.
  • Motivates students to actively participate in all aspects of the educational process
  • Completes professional development and in-service activities in accordance with WTT standards.
  • Where required, set up computers or LoD access at onsite loations and perform basic troubleshooting when equipment is not operational.
